- Stop eating out as often or all together and pack your own lunch.
- Get a checking account that doesn't charge you to keep your money in the bank. Credit unions are awesome and usually a better deal than banks.
- Try store brand foods. A lot of them taste just as good as name brand.
- Shop at thrift stores. Sometimes the clothes even come with the tag still attached.
- Make sure your tires are properly inflated. This helps you save gas.
- Turn your thermostat up in summer and down in winter. You can see the savings and won't notice much of a difference.
- Turn everything off in your house when you leave.
- Make a budget. Keep all of your receipts one month or every month to see how you spend. Then write down all expenses including all bills, food, snacks, newspapers ect.
- Try to save 10-15% of your income for emergencies.
- Use coupons whenever possible. You can print them out at various websites or buy the Sunday paper every week. Tip: If you buy the newspaper at Dollar Tree, it is only $1.00! Get there early because they run out pretty fast.
- Get free samples to try out new products before you buy. I also like to sign up for samples of things that I already love! You never can have too many hygiene items, food, or health products!
